ABA Training for Parents in North Carolina

Our HANDS On Therapy program integrates parents and caregivers into the treatment process from assessment to discharge, ensuring clear communication between families and our clinical team. We prioritize parent and caregiver training, as your role is vital in supporting your child’s development.

Our ABA therapy training for parents is unique in the way that it equips you with the skills to navigate challenges and reinforce progress at home. Sessions are led by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and are designed to provide support, guidance, and strategies to help your child practice skills effectively.

What to Expect

Each HANDS family will engage in weekly or bi-weekly parent training for autism with our BCBA where loved ones can ask questions, receive support, and learn how to best help their child practice skills at home. You will receive ongoing clinical communication, which may include:

  • Your child's progress
  • Peer interactions
  • Brief summary of program goals
  • Other relevant information pertaining to the treatment session
Parent Support and Guidance

In addition to our parent training for autism, we offer parent support services designed to guide and encourage families throughout their time at HANDS. Our Community Partnership Manager offers ongoing support, curated resources, and personalized assitance, extending care beyond the therapeutic setting. Families can expect:

  • Parent support groups designed specifically for HANDS families
  • Weekly emails that provide an array of community resources, such as summer camps, sensory-friendly activities, and other therapeutic services in your community
  • IEP support and guidance, such as how to prepare for an upcoming IEP meeting
  • HANDS-specific quarterly newsletters with provider spotlights, DIY sensory-friendly crafts, and upcoming events in the community and our clinics
